The ERDF supports investment in various sectors, for example, the protection and enhancement of the environment, the development of environmental production through the improvement of infrastructure and technological research and development.

Among the action supported by the EAGGF is the protection and promotion of sustainable agriculture in a way that respects environmental needs.

Cohesion Fund
The Cohesion Fund helps finance large environmental projects in line with the priorities of EU environmental policy as defined by the relevant action plans in the area of environment and sustainable development. The supply of drinking water, sewage disposal and the clearing of waste are priorities for the Fund. Also deemed applicable is reforestation, the fight against erosion and the
nature preservation.

The Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG) is directed towards the restructuring of the fishing sector which in the last few years has been confronted by the problem of fish shortages.
